The "Zero-Knowledge" Architecture
Unlike traditional legacy platforms, ValidHub does NOT store your receipt files on our servers. Our verification process happens client-side (in your browser) or via ephemeral processing where the file is discarded immediately after generating a cryptographic "proof." We know that you bought an item, but we do not know what else was on your receipt.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate our service:
- Account Information: Email address when you register.
- Business Verification Proofs: We store a cryptographic hash (a mathematical "fingerprint") that proves a receipt from a specific domain (e.g.,
stripe.com) was sent to your email. We do not store the original email body or headers. - Review Content: The text, star rating, and public metadata you choose to publish.
- Usage Data: Anonymized logs of how you interact with our website to improve performance.
2. Buyer Intent Data (For Businesses)
If you visit a business profile on ValidHub, we may process your IP address to identify the organization you typically represent (Reverse DNS).
Example: If you browse from a "Microsoft" corporate network, the business owner may see that "Someone from Microsoft viewed your profile." We do not identify you personally (e.g., "John Smith from Microsoft") unless you explicitly log in and interact.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To display your Verified Reviews on our platform and partner widgets.
- To detect and prevent fraud (e.g., preventing the same receipt from being used twice).
- To send transactional emails (e.g., "Your review is live"). We do not send marketing spam without consent.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. Period.
We only share data in the following strict circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use trusted infrastructure partners (e.g., Supabase for database, Vercel for hosting) who adhere to strict security standards.
- Legal Requirements: If compelled by a court order or valid subpoena.
5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
You have full control over your digital footprint. You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Rectify: Correct inaccurate information on your profile.
- Delete ("Right to be Forgotten"): Permanently delete your account and all associated reviews. Note: This action is irreversible and cryptographic proofs cannot be recovered.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in. We use privacy-preserving analytics (which do not track you across other sites) to understand how ValidHub is used.
